This lot is being sold on the instructions of an Australian resident lady. Claverhouse left Glasgow on Saturday night to make enquiries, and early next morning he had four prisoners at Strathaven. Not content with these, he thought he would make a little tour to see if he ‘could fall upon a conventicle’. He fell upon one at Loudon Hill and the result was the encounter known as The Battle of Drumclog’.
