J. EVERISS OF WEST BROMWICH ALBION, BIRMINGHAM FOOTBALL COMBINATION RUNNERS-UP GOLD MEDAL
1935/36

the obverse with enamel shield motif, the reverse inscribed RUNNERS-UP WEST BROMWICH ALBION J. EVERISS 1935-36, in nine carat gold, in box

Note: The Birmingham Combination (active 1892-1954) was a competition open to teams from the city and its surrounding areas. It was founded as the Birmingham & District Junior League, and changed its name in 1908. The league was also affiliated to the Birmingham County F.A. Winners of the league would have had to have been elected to the Birmingham & District League in order to gain promotion.

West Brom lost the final of the competition to Aston Villa.

It is thought that J. Everiss will be related to Fred Everiss, long time secretary-manager of the club (1902-48), whose son Alan also joined the West Brom staff in 1933.
