Note 1: The Crinan Canal between Crinan and Ardrishaig in Argyll and Bute in the west of Scotland is operated by Scottish Canals and is one of Scotland’s natural beauty spots. The canal, which opened in 1801, takes its name from the village of Crinan at its western end. Approximately nine miles (14 km) long, the canal connects the village of Ardrishaig on Loch Gilp with the Sound of Jura, providing a navigable route between the Clyde and the Inner Hebrides, without the need for a long diversion around the Kintyre peninsula, and in particular the exposed Mull of Kintyre. Note 2: Robert Kelsey is one of Scotland's most prominent landscape painters working today. Born in Glasgow in 1949, Robert studied painting at the Glasgow School of Art from 1966-70 under David Donaldson, James Robertson, and Alexander Goudie. Kelsey went on to teach art until 1995, at which point he left education to paint full time. Since then, Robert Kelsey has developed a reputation as one of Scotland's finest and in-demand painters, particularly for his stunning coastlines.

A condition report is offered as an indication of any issues visible to the naked eye. As none of our staff is a professional conservator or restorer, buyers must satisfy themselves in respect of condition and McTear’s can provide contact details of local professionals who can provide fully comprehensive expert reports, usually for a modest charge.
