Information on Bidding at McTear's

At the auction.....If you intend travelling to the auction rooms to bid yourself, you must register for a 'bidding number'. This can be done on the morning of the auction.

By telephone.....If you cannot travel to the auction rooms on the auction day, but would rather bid yourself, rather than placing a 'commission' bid, you may bid by phone during the auction. There are a limited number of lines available for this facility, so we recommend booking a line as early as possible, prior to the auction day.

Through the interactive catalogue.....By using the My Lots facility on the catalogue, you can scroll through the illustrated catalogue, 'gather' lots that are of interest to you automatically on one page and then submit commission bids to us to execute on your behalf.

Live through the internet.....All monthly antiques auctions now offer the facility to our clients of bidding live through the internet. More information on this is available by clicking here.

By fax or email.....You may send bids to us by fax or email.
You can download a Bidding Form by clicking here (you will require Adobe Reader).  Print off and fax the form to: +44 (0) 141 883 9920
Email bids to
bids@mctears.co.uk using the same information required on the Bid Form.
Please ensure you indicate the Auction Date on the form or in your email. Bids must be received no later than 9.30am on the auction day.

We always recommend that you follow up bids sent by fax or email with a telephone call to +44 (0) 141 810 2880.

To book a line for telephone bidding, call Louise Fletcher on +44 (0) 141 810 2880, or email all relevant information to bids@mctears.co.uk

Please note that hammer prices are each subject to a buyer's premium of 15% plus v.a.t. thereon.
