Pictures Specialist and General Valuer at McTear’s, Natasha Raskin’s interest in the arts was sparked from a young age. Born in 1986 in Glasgow in to a family of art lovers and collectors, a degree in the History of Art and French at Glasgow University cemented a love for all things aesthetically pleasing. Paintings, sculpture, beautifully-crafted bespoke jewellery and, truth be told, anything Art Nouveau and Art Deco are all right up Natasha’s street, so it’s no surprise that her enthusiasm for her role at McTear’s, which sees her dealing with all of the above on a daily basis, shines through.
One of McTear’s five auctioneers (three of whom are feisty females!) Natasha enjoys nothing more than selling the items that she has valued, catalogued (and coveted) from the rostrum; cringe-worthy puns and fits of the giggles are all par for the course but, with around 500 lots per sale to share between them, the auctioneers at McTear’s have all got to have their unique way of keeping the buyers smiling.
Natasha is available five days a week to discuss the sale of your paintings and other objets d’art at McTear’s – why not drop in for a chat some time soon!?
