GLASGOW'S BEST PICTURE AUCTION FOR YEARS!
The catalogue is now online for what is, by some distance, the finest dedicated pictures auction held in Glasgow for several years.

The contemporary element is headed up by the stunning self portrait by Jenny Saville which was bought by the vendor at Saville’s degree show at the Glasgow School of Art in 1992. Saville is one of the few living artist to have achieved the $1 million plus mark for a single painting at auction.
Other contemporary lots include works by : Alison Watt, Stephen Conroy, Paul McPhail, Adrian Wiszniewski, Robbie Duff-Scott, Chantal Joffe, Callum Innes, Craig Mulholland and a fabulous collection of Peter Howson’s.
The “Glasgow Boys” are represented by George Henry, James Paterson, Alexander Roche, William York MacGregor, David Gauld and EA Walton .

The current “Glasgow Girls” exhibition at Kirkcudbright is proving to be a major success and rare works by Jessie Marion King, Eleanor Allen Moore and Margaret De Courcy Lewthwaite Dewar are also included in the catalogue.

The Scottish Colourists remain ever collectable and there’s examples by JD Fergusson, Francis Cadell, George Leslie Hunter and a very rare work of Margaret Morris (JD Fergusson’s partner).
At the heart of this sale is a superb private collection of pictures assembled over many years by an anonymous Scottish gentleman. He has acquired most of these pictures from Glasgow’s most prestigious art galleries but has also made inspirational purchases at Glasgow School of Art degree shows. His meticulous record keeping has enabled most of these lots to be offered with the advantage of documented provenance.
The auction starts at 6.00pm on Wednesday 11th August.
