With an abundance of fine Bordeaux wines alongside, it came as no surprise there was fierce competition from bidders in France as well as Germany, Austira, Hong Kong, Russia and Australia.
The Pol Roger 1928 exceeded pre-auction expectations achieving a hammer price of £650, more than three times its low estimate. A fantastic price for the antique champagne.
Whisky was not to be outshone, with the Longmorn-Glenlivet 1971 reaching a fantastic £1300 for what will be without question an outstanding spirit.
Strong worldwide competition for Rare whisky and Fine wines shows the continued strength within the auction market for these items.
The next Whisky auction will take on place on 18 June, entries are now invited.
