The Scottish Country House auction certainly lived up to its name with strong results for period furniture and decorative arts.
An interesting an early oak child’s chair impressed at £600 while a large proportioned lounge stool won many admirers while racing to a £1,500 hammer price after a bidding battle.
An imposing stag’s head from the Glencalvie Estate went for £240 before the standout lot of the day took its star turn with the Orientalist bronze attributed to Franz Xavier Bergman bringing a notable £1,500.
