100 years on, Art Deco is still very much in vogue, with one of the star lots of today’s auction being a sleek and stylish four piece tea service, lapped up for an impressive £1,850.
Drinking vessels a-plenty were also on offer, with an impressive George III silver tankard being knocked down at £1,400, and a late 19th century Russian silver kiddush cup being bought at £500.
McTear's is the only Scottish auction house to hold an auction dedicated to silver. The next Silver Auction takes place on 17th March 2022 and entries are invited.
