PORTABLE ANEMOMETER TYPE INSTRUMENT no maker's name visible, copper body with brass measurement dial, vane positioned above dial, dial outer measurements in furlongs and inner measurements in miles, contained in fitted wooden box, miniature glass bottle for oil contained in fitted compartment within box, inscription in pencil under metal slate fitted to interior of box reads 'Belonged to Sir William Robertson Copland, bought by John Miller contractor on disbandment of the Copland establishment', 19cm long
