TWO EARLY 20TH CENTURY INVERURIE LOCO F.C. GOLD MEDALS

1932 INVERURIE LOCO LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP WINNERS MEDAL,
the obverse with central plaque depicting a footballer in relief, the reverse inscribed 'League C'ship Wnrs. Inverurie Loco. C. Emslie 1931-32', 34mm high including bale, in nine carat gold, 7.2g, along with a League Cup Winners medal, the obverse with vacant cartouche, the reverse inscribed 'League Cup Wnrs. C. Emslie 1931-32, 32mm high including bale, in nine carat gold, 5.7g (2)

Note: Inverurie Loco Works F.C. was founded in 1903 by the workmen of Great North of Scotland Railway. The team have been based at Harlaw Park since, despite the closure of the Locomotive Workshops in 1970, and currently play in the Scottish Highland Football League.
