Note: John Muirhead was born in Edinburgh and studied at the Board of Manufactures School there. He worked in France, Belgium and Holland. He was known mainly as a landscape painter and etcher. Plates made from his oil paintings were tipped into Hillaire Belloc’s The Rivers of London. He lived in London and exhibited with the New English Art Club. He also lived at Houghton in Huntingdonshire.
