Note: Gwen Fulton was born in Edinburgh in 1948 and studied at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art Dundee, graduating in Illustration and Printmaking. After a successful spell as an illustrator in Scotland and England she spent nearly 10 years living and working in Canada and various parts of the United States including the Pacific Northwest and Boston Massachusetts. Re-established back in the U.K., Gwen is now based in Surrey, England. Gwen’s unique figurative paintings have encompassed a diverse range of subjects. Moving on from birds and plants in traditional landscapes, her current work combines the elements of imagined landscapes and mazes with exotic plants, animals and birds in order to create richly detailed oil paintings. These are full of colour, often with something of the surreal, conveying a sense of ambiguity and the unexpected. Gwen exhibits with Portal Painters at The London Art Fair, Islington, The Affordable Art Fairs in Battersea (spring) and in Hampstead and at The 20/21 British Art Fair at the Royal College of Art. The typical gallery price for a painting of these dimensions by Gwen Fulton would be £1500 - 1800.
