Note: Golspie is a village in Sutherland, Highland, Scotland, which lies on the North Sea coast in the shadow of Ben Bhraggie. Bellany’s wife Helen grew up in Golspie, and they both returned there for family visits and holidays on many occasions during the artist's lifetime. This painting was probably painted on one of these visits to the stunning Scottish Highlands
