Note: Edgar Freyberg is a German painter best known for his realist depictions of seascapes and ships. Freyberg’s paintings often focus on waves breaking on the shore and sunlight as it emerges through the clouds. Freyberg has exhibited extensively throughout mainland Europe, in the UK and in the USA. His work is held in the collection of the International Maritime Museum in Hamburg. The artist currently lives on the island of Sylt off the coast of Germany’s northern-most state of Schleswig-Holstein.
