HANDWRITTEN LETTER FROM CHARLES MANSON,
addressed to the vendor, written from the California State Prison 'San Quentin' in 1972.
The handwritten content reading "Raija Muatka, That sure is a nice name I like that very much. I haven’t forgot to wright to you, it’s just that so much to do & also don’t wright or spell good. I can speak more words than I can spell. Wrighting letters for me is a job but I do like to read & get mail. Do you ski much in your Finland, what a good place. You may think it’s nice in other parts of the world until you see them & find out that to have a home in a peaceful place is most wonderfull. I think of nature a lot & thought maybe you would send me some pictures of Finland also tell me what you do. I meditate a lot, forgetting the past & dreaming of a world at peace with everyone loving. It sure would be wonderfull, ill wright to you again if you get this. I ask a friend to wright you & he said he would. So until I here from you tell everyone I said Hi. I hope you can read this. Peace is on the way, Charles Manson P.S you do smile a lot?". Written in pencil on blue lined paper, in original envelope, along with accompanying letter from California State Prison to the vendor detailing Manson's contact details, and letters to the vendor from Manson's fellow inmate Orbry L Williams - 'Buddy'
