MID-19TH CENTURY VIOLIN,
two piece 14 inch back, bearing a label for Jean-Baptiste Vuillaume a Paris 3 Rue Demours-Terne, 59.5cm overall, with bow, in fitted case

Note: Jean-Baptise Vuillaume (1798-1875) was an innovative violin maker and restorer. He drew his inspiration from older violins by Stradivari and Guarneri 'del Gesu.' His workshop in Paris employed and trained some of the finest 19th century violin and bow makers, including Maucotel, Derazey, Persoit and Fonclause.
