Note: Robert Macaulay Stevenson was a Glasgow artist and member of the Glasgow Boys group of painters. Trained in Glasgow he worked from studios in France, Kirkcudbright and Bardowie Loch near Milngavie during his career. His later work showed strong influence of the French painter Corot. "Harvest Sunset" is from 1883 and shows the influence of Jules Bastien Lepage which is most evident in the early works of the Glasgow Boys.
