PERSIAN NAIN RUG,
finely detailed with central burgundy medallion against beige ground with arabesque floral scrolls throughout, hand-knotted, 221 x 146cm

Provenance: A gift from the late Shah of Persia to the late Sir John Weir GCVO, Physician to the Royal Families of the UK and Norway 1918-1968.

Additional image now available. Unfortunately no paperwork with this piece.
Condition good to fair. Light wear as per age and use. Slight discolour in areas. Fringe coming loose to one side/end. It is also possible this fringe is a later addition over another. Sides roll underneath from the way the rug has been rolled, and would need to be reflattened.

More images have now been added, though the quality and resolution of these cannot be heightened as taken on only camera available.
