Note 2: Joel Kirk is a British painter working in a Photorealist style. He travels the world, making initial studies of his subjects, in pastel and watercolour, before transferring them to larger canvases in his studio. Born in Dorking, United Kingdom, Kirk attended the Southend College of Art before beginning his career as a commercial artist, producing images for publishing houses and postage stamps. His realist techniques are comparable to those used by artists such as Julie Bell and Timothy Barr. Kirk often raises money for Wildlife foundations, including the Born Free Foundation and the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund. Kirk lives and works in Dorset, United Kingdom.
