with socle base, and on a simulated scagliola marble column plinth with square base, the bust 70cm high, 186cm high overall

Ayton Castle, in the Scottish Borders, is widely regarded as one of Scotland's finest baronial style buildings and was designed by James Gillespie Graham, one of Scotland's leading Gothic revival architects of the early 19th Century

Condition Report
Restoration taken place to the neck, for what appears to have been a clean break.
Further restoration to another possible near break above the socle, as well as areas of damage.
Wear as per age, including some possible minor damage to the beard.
The column has general wear as per use and age, including a couple of minor splits.
