19TH CENTURY VENETIAN EBONISED BLACKAMOOR PIER TABLE,
the 'D' shaped top with inlaid scrolls and roundels in bone, the frieze similarly inlaid with two grotesques and indented keys, supported by a kneeling Blackamoor, with shaped back panel on a shaped platform base, on bun feet, 96cm wide
Provenance: The William Mowat-Thomson Collection

Lifting, bubbling and loss to the veneer, particularly to the table top. Some spots of loss and damage to bone inlay. Some areas where lacquer has worn. Beading to the front is missing a few finials. Wooden figure base has a ding to the leg and some scoring. Part of his foot has snapped off. Split in the wood to one bun foot, splits to the top, and split running across the base. Large split to back. Slight movement to the top. Images available.
