Note: Igor Talwinski was a notable Polish painter who became popular in the period after 1945. After the Second World War he moved to Paris, where he lived for the rest of his career. His first exhibition took place in Paris in 1951, and he also had solo shows in London and New York. He is known particularly for his female portraits and nudes. His niece is the model for many of his paintings.
