A RARE LATE 19TH/EARLY 20TH CENTURY AUTOMATON

LATE 19TH/EARLY 20TH CENTURY AUTOMATON,
possibly by Leopold Lambert or Gustav Vichy, modelled as Chinese man smoking opium, in traditional dress, with key mechanism to hip, on an oblong base, 71cm high

Bellows perished so that it will need restoration to move properly, though we have wound it and seen some movement in the head.
