ROBERT TAIT OF HEARTS - HIS SCOTTISH FOOTBALL LEAGUE LEAGUE CUP WINNERS GOLD MEDAL 1958/59

SCOTTISH FOOTBALL LEAGUE LEAGUE CUP WINNERS GOLD MEDAL 1958/59,
awarded to Mr. Robert Tait (Director) of Heart of Midlothian F.C., the obverse with central shield shaped plaque with red enamel lion rampant motif, within blue enamel border inscribed 'Scottish Football League', the reverse inscribed 'Winners League Cup 1958-59 Hof M.F. Director MR. R. TAIT', 40mm including bale, maker JWB, in nine carat gold, approximately 6g, mounted on presentation plaque

Note: This rare medal comes from a spell of Scottish League Cup dominance for the Edinburgh side. Indeed, the club have lifted that trophy only four times, all of which came during the 1950s to early 60s. This medal comes from the second time they lifted the cup, defeating Partick Thistle resoundingly by 5 goals to 1 in the final.
