hand painted retro floppy disk, signed, original from an edition of 20
overall size 23.5cm x 23.5cm
Arlo Sinclair has always had a soft spot for the forgotten bits of tech — floppy disks, unloved ports, PCMCIA modems. His studio’s a bit of a tech graveyard... with better lighting and the faint smell of solder. His work blends painting (and more lately, sculpture) with the ghosts of our digital past. Much of the storage media he has amassed over the years are now useless for files — we all end up degrading — but they carry references, meanings, and the odd emotional glitch. This isn’t just about paying tribute to the past. It’s about taking dead tech and giving it something to say... before it crashes."
