A GEORGE VI 1937 GOLD FOUR COIN SPECIMEN SET

GEORGE VI 1937 GOLD FOUR COIN SPECIMEN SET,
comprising five pounds, two pounds, sovereign and half sovereign, in fitted red leather case,

1937 is the only year that gold coins were minted under the sixteen year reign of George VI. When minted, they were produced in a limited release of 5,001 making these the rarest gold sovereigns to come across. This four coin set comes complete within its original fitted case which adds to the rarity of this lot. Many of these sets have been split up in order to fulfil collectors needs so very few remain intact making this an incredibly special set.
