Luke Steele is a UK based artist. Lawns conform, their repetitive rhythmic pattern give stability. A constant, the spirit level resuming balance to my stories chaos. Grass is an unremarkable platform which when given time and nurturing becomes a remarkable one. Gallery white washed walls or bricks on the street, stadium pitch or park field. Both are the basis, a platform/surface for greatness. What lay above or upon it. Neither are there to prove but both observe the spectacle within its grasp. The masses unite to observe, pilgrims travel to praise and to worship. Historically and to date, lawns/grass are an important staple in British culture and the landscape of this nation.
