Note: Glasgow painter of landscapes, coastal scenes and seascapes in oil and watercolour, painted mostly Highland views and seascapes in the “wet” technique in watercolour in a manner similar to Coulston Young. Elected RSW 1885, RBA 1890, Exhibited RA, RSW RSA, AAS, RI, L and GI. Represented in Glasgow Museums and Galleries and Paisley Art Institute.
