19TH CENTURY BRASS BOUND MAHOGANY WRITING SLOPE,
the hinged cover with central cartouche inscribed 'Mr James Todd', opening to reveal an interior fitted with three covered compartments flanked by inkwells over a gilt tooled red Morocco skiver, the lower sectioning opening to reveal a recess, with push catch revealing three secret compartments, the back section with push catch also revealing three secret compartments, with further push catch to open a false bottom and final push revealing three secret drawers, 53.4cm wide

Condition Report
Condition good to fair. Large split running the width of the cover.  Two bore holes without screws and to cover, both in the similar position - so uncertain whether intentional. Inkwell and pounce pot with wear, staining, also damage to pounce pot cover. Reverse left recess cover restored, and right cover damaged. All three covers without nobs. Split to cover shows through to lower underside. Key not functioning for front lock, and Key lacking for interior upper compartment. Apparent splits to underside of this hinged compartment. wear throughout commensurate with age. Cover doesn't sit completely flush. Additional images illustrate condition, as well as secret compartments.
