A GEORGE III AND LATER EBONISED BRACKET CLOCK

EBONISED BRACKET CLOCK,
the Victorian brass dial with Strike/Silent and regulation subsidiary dials above silvered chapter ring set with Arabic and Roman numerals, central false pendulum and calendar apertures above applied gilt spandrels, spuriously signed 'John Topping London', the backplate similarly signed and chased with foliate scrolls, the twin fusee movement striking on a bell, housed in a George III period ebonised case with red silk lining to sides, 44cm high to swing handle

Case has lost lower right side base moulding, loss of moulding upper and left sides of door, split to joint of lower and left base mouldings, chip left of keyhole, lacquer with splits and crazed throughout, chip lower left rear door, tears and fading to silk lining; movement not tested and no guarantee of working order, additional images available; dial 20.4 x 17.8cm overall, chapter ring 16.5cm diameter, hands replaced
