A FINE TWO-DAY MARINE CHRONOMETER BY LITHERLAND, DAVIES & CO. OF LIVERPOOL

LITHERLAND, DAVIES & CO. LIVERPOOL, FINE TWO-DAY MARINE CHRONOMETER,
circa early 19th century, No. 134/10595, with fusee driven movement, the engraved silvered dial with inner Roman numeral chapter ring and outer Arabic numeral minute ring, subsidiary seconds dial, the brass surround in gimbal mount, housed in a three tier mahogany deck box with brass mounts and swing handles, bearing ivory plaquette, 17cm high, 19.4cm wide, 19.6cm deep

Condition good to fair. Unable to wind and indication is that it has likely been overwound, therefore not ticking at present. Each component including deck box and dial are subject to typical age and use related wear, including minor chip to corner and a split across base of deck box. Unable to access mechanism, also there is no paperwork to confirm recent service history. Hands and dial glass appear as later replacements. Additional images now available.
