Note: John Black built an incredible reputation as a master of wildlife and nature drawing and painting. John was born in 1959 in Dumbarton, through his love of the wold remote parts of the Scottish highlands, he captured not only the more elusive changing atmosphere, thereby firing the imagination of the sympathetic viewer. He was an artist of integrity and skills and specialised in depicting wildlife in its natural setting. Most of John's work is oil on canvas but he also used charcoal to capture the energy of movement. His work is in private collections in Britain, Europe and North America. One of the few wildlife painters who paint in oils, many of John's paintings have been chosen to illustrate the front covers of sporting magazines.
