Amelia Prescott is an artist based in Greater Manchester. In 2020, Amelia achieved a HND in Fine Art at Warrington and Vale Royal college. It was during this period Amelia found her passion for oil painting, and this has been her preferred medium ever since. Amelia's recent work focuses on the combination of abstract and realistic style. The backgrounds are formed by the application of oil paint scraped on with palette knives, the use of loose brush strokes, and simple representational lines in order to emphasise the detailed subject matter in the foreground. The use of vivid colours are used to make the subject matter less mundane, and more anomalous. By merging these characteristics, a contemporary formation is created, which has become Amelia's visual identity.
