Note: Robert Kelsey is one of Scotland's most prominent landscape painters working today. Born in Glasgow in 1949, Robert studied painting at the Glasgow School of Art from 1966-70 under David Donaldson, James Robertson, and Alexander Goudie. Kelsey went on to teach art until 1995, at which point he left education to paint full time. Since then, Robert Kelsey has developed a reputation as one of Scotland's finest and in-demand painters, particularly for his stunning coastlines. Lot 48 "Portree Bay, Skye" by Robert Kelsey from the same private collection as "Yacht In The Sound of Iona" sold in The Scottish Contemporary Art Auction of 17th August 2023 sold for £2200 (hammer).
