Built in the 1960s by Invergordon distillers, Tamnavulin translates from Gaelic as “the mill on the hill” in honour of the historic carding mill it shares a site with. Most of the whisky produced at the distillery is used for blending by Whyte & MacKay, who bought over the Invergordon group in 1995, but they do still produce a small amount of single malt.
