A GOOD EDO PERIOD JAPANESE KATANA

GOOD EDO PERIOD JAPANESE KATANA,
the blade tang signed Etchu no Kami Fujiwara Kanekuni, real name Tsutsui Kyuemon, in iron han-dachi mounts, the tsuba with gilt highlights, the same grip rebound in blue silk, the full length ribbed saya of black roiro lacquer, approximately 95cm long overall

Condition Report
Condition generally good to fair. The original grip has been rebound in blue silk. There is a split to the chagrin on one side of the grip, and a loss (approximately 7mm) to the other. The Fuchs and Tsuba with light wear. The saya likely a far later addition, with areas of wear and minor loss. Blade generally good. Additional images now available. Length of cutting edge of blade approximately 55.5cm long
