Jenny grew up on the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides. The island's rich cultural heritage influenced Jenny's love for history, a passion which saw her go on to complete a BA (Hons) in History at Glasgow Caledonian University. In 2013, she combined her love for art, textiles and heritage by embarking on an MLitt in Art History: Dress and Textile Histories at the University of Glasgow.
Before joining McTear's, Jenny worked with various organisations including the Harris Tweed Authority, the Hunterian Museum and Art Gallery, and Glasgow Museums.
Jenny is passionate about Scottish art, particularly the work of the Glasgow School and the Scottish Arts and Crafts Movement. Since joining McTear’s she has developed a love for printmaking and has relished in navigating the myriad of prints and their technical processes. Outside McTear’s, Jenny is an enthusiastic visitor to museums and galleries, is a member of the Scottish Society for Art History and loves nothing more than a good cup of tea by the fire!
