Hammer Highlights

In The Watches Auction on 21 May it was Batman that was the star of the show! Not the man in the suit, but a watch that has been given the moniker by avid followers and collectors of the Rolex brand.

Lot 752, a rare to auction Rolex GMT Master II wrist watch, featured the sought after black and blue bezel. After strong bidding from the room, online and on the phone, the bidder on the phone based in England won the watch, paying £13,000 including fees.

Perhaps the most surprising result was the Jaeger Le Coultre military issue watch, which sold for an impressive £5400, again after room, phone and online competition. The winning bidder did so online from Austria.
