Diamonds really held their own at The Jewellery Auction at McTear’s on Wednesday 9 October. Lot 4, an Art Deco style diamond solitaire ring with a stone of 1.50 carats, sold for £2000 including fees.
This went to a delighted room bidder who also won lot 47, a diamond three stone ring, for £1650. Bringing back the 1970s, the chunky gold bracelet at lot 72 made an impressive £1300.
After competition online from a UK bidder, it was knocked down to a buyer in the saleroom. Lot 115 was a very pretty pair of moonstone and gem set earrings. An excited first time bidder with McTear’s was the lucky buyer of these, hammer £400.
