Rangers programmes make 2K

A selection of programmes relating to Rangers Football Club made over £2,000 at the Sporting Medals & Trophies Auction on Friday 13 March.

Whilst we have seen a large number of programmes come to auction in recent years, most are relatively modern and not always what collectors are after in terms of vintage. This collection comprised eighteen lots and contained examples dating from the immediate post war period –  certainly a rare offering!

City rivals Celtic were also well represented in the programme category too, with a number relating to their famous 1967 European Cup campaign.

This of course included Stevie Chalmers’ own European Cup final programme (part of the wider Chalmers collection), which ended up selling for a hammer price of £900, what looks to be an auction record for a programme of this nature!
