Scottish artist Kirsty Wither is one of Britain's best known contemporary artists and her work is in constant demand from the most prestigious galleries. Withers work has featured in more than thirty major Solo Exhibitions since 1997 including numerous shows at The Portland Gallery (London), The Open Eye Gallery (Edinburgh) and The Gatehouse Gallery (Glasgow).
Wither's paintings rarely appear at auction, but McTear's sold "Blue Flowers", a 59cm x 49cm oil on canvas, 06/09/2010 lot 222 for £2200 (hammer). The two paintings included in The Scottish Contemporary Art Auction (lots 2192 & 2193) are large and truly exceptional examples of Kirsty's work and they have been consigned by a private collector from Surrey, England. They were originally purchased from Contemporary Fine Art, Eton.
