A bumper year of Asian Art

September brings the fourth Asian Art Auction. 2021 has been a fabulous year for Asian art at McTear’s.

This month we are looking forward to over 320 lots going under the hammer, including a striking Japanese sword, a functionally beautiful Chinese desk, several Persian carpets and a cracking pair of Chinese famille jaune vases.

In a collection of Japanese woodblock prints, we can enjoy the actors, samurai and geisha of old Japan.

Undoubtedly there will be surprises among the Chinese ceramics. Perhaps lot 1687, a beautifully painted famille rose vase will catch more than one eye. Maybe the quality pair of famille jaune moon flask vases will bring competition from across the word. With good things coming in small packages, the little tea bowl in lot 1772 may prove popular among collectors.

The fall of the hammer will tell all.  Join us for The Asian Works of Art Auction on Thursday 30 September.
