gilt cloth with original dustjacket, first edition, signed by the author and dated 1948, along with a letter of provenance from Sir. Arnold B. Gridley, also to include the Second World War Vols. I-VI

Note: Sir Arnold Gridley worked as private secretary to Churchill, and was a close friend of the vendor's great-grandfather in law Mr. Jenkins (as referenced in the letter)
