the obverse with central shield shaped plaque with red enamelled lion rampant motif, surrounded by enamelled thistle motifs and blue enamel border inscribed Scottish Football League Championship, the reverse inscribed FIRST DIVISION Season 1960-61, in nine carat gold, in box of issue, along with a copy of Wilson on the Wing - The Davie Wilson Story
Note: Davie Wilson, a Rangers Hall of Fame inductee, made 373 appearances for the team between 1956 and 1967, scoring 157 goals. He was also capped 22 times by the national team, scoring 9 goals.
A boyhood fan of the club, he grew up just outside of Glasgow in the mining village of Newton. He was rejected by local Junior club, Cambusland Rangers for being too small, instead starting his career with Baillieston. In 1956 he came to the attention of Rangers, signing his first contract with the club.
He was an integral part of the successful Rangers side of the early 1960s, winning four League Championships (only receiving two medals due to not playing the minimum required games in the other two), five Scottish Cups, two Legue Cups, and reaching two UEFA Cup Winners' Cup finals (playing in one).
Wilson was ever-present during the 1960-61 season playing every minute of every match (60 in total) and scoring 23 goals.
Wilson left the club in 1967 at the age of 30, going on to play for Dundee United and Dumbarton before retiring in 1973. In retirement, he remained a loyal supporter of his boyhood club, attending many matches and functions.
