Orkney’s Highland Park distillery is situated in the town of Kirkwall on the site of an illicit still thought to have been operated by Magnus Eunson, a smuggler, local butcher and former priest who was directly descended from Viking settlers. With that heritage, it’s fitting that today they frequently draw from Scandinavian mythology when it comes to naming their whiskies.
The distillery is known for its signature style that utilises Orcadian peat in the malting process, resulting in a fragrant, heathery spirit that is most often left matured in Sherry wood.
A condition report is offered as an indication of any issues visible to the naked eye. As none of our staff is a professional conservator or restorer, buyers must satisfy themselves in respect of condition. The condition report does not form part of any contract between McTear's and the buyer, and all lots are offered "as is" in accordance with our Terms of Business available on our website.
