Note: born in Winchester, England, was a painter of genre, landscapes and animals, renowned for his scenes in the Scottish Highlands. He exhibited widely in London, especially in the Royal Academy but also in the Suffolk Street Gallery and the British Institution. He painted for at least seven different dealers in various locations each with a different pseudonyms.
