A LIVERPOOL SHIPWRECK AND HUMANE SOCIETY MEDAL AWARDED TO CAPT. C. J. KILLEY

CAPTAIN C. J. KILLEY - LIVERPOOL SHIPWRECK AND HUMANE SOCIETY MEDAL,
along with archive material including a sepia photograph inscribed 'CJK & the Chief Officer taking the sun at noon', photograph illustrating King George with naval cadets and George D. Killey in attendance, a letter from Miller & Richards dated 11th January 1909 informing George D. Killey of the death of Capt. C. J. Killey, Lucitania medal, felt shipping line cap badge, an album of cuttings relating to maritime matters and the various ships on which C. J. Killey served and a telescope believed to be the Killey family telescope

Note: This medal was awarded to Captain C. J. Killey, S.S. 'Larnaca', for having rescued the crew of ten men belonging to the barquentine 'Alfred' in a gale of wind off the coast of Portugal on the 12th instant, with the certificate dated 29th August 1895. The medal is mistakenly engraved 'Capt. C. J. KITTEY'.
