Condition report
- In fair to worn condition, signs of wear consistent with age 
- Reverse scratched and tarnished 
- Pin is textured and slightly misshapen 
- Small dent to reverse 
- Appears to be dirty residue beneath gem and gem not level within setting  
- Additional photographs added

 

LARGE SCOTTISH THISTLE DECORATED WHITE METAL BROOCH,
set with central round cairngorm effect gem surrounded by moulded thistle and foliage motif decoration, the reverse with central presentation inscription reading 'Presented by George F. W. Callander ESQ to the Fourth or Ardkinglas Section of the Eighth Argyleshire Volunteers', within engraved border, with subsidiary inscriptions reading 'Won by Private John McKellar 1865' and 'Won by Private Lachlan McGlashan 1867', 10cm diameter
