LARGE JAPANESE SATSUMA BALUSTER VASE,
Meiji Period (1868-1912), profusely decorated, the body with two panels featuring bijin and children against reserves featuring dragons, phoenix and chrysanthemum blooms above border of crashing waves, unmarked, 60.5cm high, presented on a carved hardwood stand, this 60cm high

Condition Report
Displays typical tight crazing to the body throughout, the rim with some yellow underglaze staining, rim and neck interior with visible inclusions from manufacture, rim was gilded but vast majority has rubbed off, some slight rubbing to decoration and surface dust/dirt but overall well preserved; some of the crazing lines to the base can just be felt with a fingernail; the stand with splits, chips and general wear
